About Reconnect Centre
Reconnect Centre is specialist centre dedicated to supporting adults living with persistent pain, chronic health conditions, emotional health concerns, and mental health challenges. We recognise the complex relationship between mind, body, emotions, and physical health, and our approach reflects that understanding.
Our approach is grounded in emotional depth, compassion, and clinical integrity. We provide evidence-informed, client-centred care for people navigating complex and interconnected experiences, whether that involves persistent pain, trauma, emotional distress, life transitions, or the impact of long-term health conditions.
Sessions are currently offered via secure telehealth, providing flexible and accessible support across Australia.
Our Philosophy

Emotion-Focused Care
We believe that lasting change comes from understanding our emotions, experiences, and nervous system responses, not just our thoughts. Our work is grounded in emotional insight, and we aim to support clients to gently explore what's beneath the surface, at a pace that feels manageable and safe.
Evidence-Based Practice
Our approach is informed by evidence-based therapies and current clinical research, including approaches that recognise the interaction between emotions, the nervous system, physical health, and psychological wellbeing. While Experiential Dynamic Therapy (EDT) is a significant influence on our work, we tailor our approach to the individual, recognising that no single model is right for every person.

Telehealth with Intention
Reconnect Centre offers services exclusively via secure telehealth. This allows you to access care from the comfort of your own space while maintaining the depth, connection, and professionalism of therapy. For many people living with persistent pain, chronic illness, demanding schedules, or limited local access to specialised services, telehealth offers a flexible and accessible way to receive support.
Meet the Founder
Reconnect Centre was founded by Ada Kuang (she/her), a Clinical Psychologist with a decade of experience supporting adults living with persistent pain, emotional distress, trauma, and mental health challenges.
Her therapeutic approach is primarily informed by Experiential Dynamic Therapy (EDT), an evidence-based approach that helps people better understand and work through the emotions, experiences, and patterns that may be contributing to ongoing distress. Ada also draws from a range of evidence-based therapies, tailoring her approach to the unique needs, goals, and circumstances of each individual.
Ada has a particular interested in the relationship between emotional distress and chronic pain - especially in how unprocessed trauma can affect both the mind and the body. She is drawn to working with individuals who experience medically unexplained symptoms, trauma, and long-term stress-related conditions. Ada is passionate about helping people make sense of experiences that can feel confusing, overwhelming, or difficult to explain, recognising that emotional wellbeing and physical health are often deeply connected.
Before founding Reconnect Centre, Ada worked for several years in a multidisciplinary community-based Persistent Pain Service. There, she collaborated closely with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and medical practitioners to support people living with complex and long-standing health conditions. This experience continues to shape her appreciation for the relationship between emotional health, trauma, physical symptoms, and nervous system wellbeing, as well as the value of collaborative, whole-person care.
Outside of clinical work, Ada is a passionate advocate for mental health and community wellbeing. She currently serves on the board of a women's shelter organisation supporting women and children impacted by family violence, reflecting her commitment to creating safe, supportive communities both within and beyond the therapy room.
At home, Ada finds joy in life's quieter moments, spending time with her young family, sharing good food, and enjoying the company of her much-beloved Japanese Spitz. These experiences help ground her in the values that sit at the heart of Reconnect Centre: connection, compassion, and the importance of meaningful relationships.
Reconnect Centre is a reflection of Ada's belief that meaningful change occurs when people feel genuinely understood, supported, and empowered to reconnect with themselves, their health, and the life they wish to live.
